NWC Scholar-Athlete Award Winners

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Pacific Lutheran University student-athletes Keegan Dolan and Vivian Shinall were honored as Northwest Conference First Team Scholar-Athlete selections this week while 181 total PLU student-athletes were honored as NWC Scholar-Athletes for excellence in the classroom during the 2021-2022 academic year.

The 181 Lute student-athletes claimed NWC Scholar-Athlete status after maintaining at least a 3.50 grade point average in addition to logging a complete season of participation with a varsity sport in 2021-2022. This year's marks the sixth consecutive season the Lutes have had over 140 student-athletes earn NWC Scholar Athlete Award recognition.

Five-time defending NWC Champion women's soccer set the pace with 23 student-athletes earning NWC Scholar Athlete honors while baseball men's soccer had the next most with 18.

Dolan and Shinall were recognized with 16 other student-athletes from around the league as First Team NWC Scholar-Athlete Award winners. Dolan and Shinall receive the honor after winning the department's George Fisher Scholar-Athlete Award this spring at the Lutey's for boasting the best grade point average amongst the graduating senior class.
