WORCESTER, Mass. — The Pacific Lutheran University women's rowing team tested its mettle against some of the nation's best on Saturday on Lake Quinsigamond, placing fourth in two races at the Barbara Grant Donahue Cup hosted by Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
The Lutes varsity eight boat finished fourth overall in their race, covering the 2,000-meter course in seven minutes, 35.95 seconds. It was PLU's fastest finish this spring. 11th-ranked Clark University took the top spot, crossing the finish in 7:01.9.
PLU's second varsity boat also placed fourth in their heat, crossing the finish in 8:14.31. Clark took top honors in the 2V race, sprinting down the course in 7:23.2.
The Lutes are back on the water tomorrow, with another round of racing on Lake Quinsigamond.
