Official CRCA Release

TACOMA, Wash. — The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) recognized success on the water and in the classroom on Tuesday with six Pacific Lutheran University women's rowing student-athletes earning the CRCA's Scholar Athlete Award.

Nursing majors Louisa Compton, Makayla Hall, and Riah Heil along with psychology major Adia Carei, communication major Sarah Hoskins and biology major Sophia Pancoast were the six Lutes earning recognition.

To be recognized, student-athletes had to be in their second year of eligibility and maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 or better. On the water, student-athletes had to have rowed in 75 percent of the team's races in the spring or race at the conference or NCAA Championships.

Under CRCA Pacific Region Coach of the Year Matt Oclander, the Lutes were the top squad in the Pacific Region, finishing eighth at the 2025 NCAA Division III Championships and 15th in the final CRCA Coaches' Poll.
