TACOMA, Wash. — Eight seniors on the Pacific Lutheran University football team were recognized for their commitment to academics this spring, earning membership into the National Football Foundation's Hampshire Honor Society.
Being recognized from the Lutes is
Laakea Ane,
Erik Bainter,
Ashton Barton,
Braden Dick,
Alexander Gillies,
Gianni LaFave,
Logan Shimskey, and
Aiden Shroyer. Of the 18 total student-athletes from the Northwest Conference to be recognized, eight hailed from PLU. Across all divisions of football, 1,746 players from 330 colleges and universities were recognized. To be honored the player must be a senior with a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.2 or better and have been a starter or a significant contributor throughout the season.
The Lutes finished second in the NWc standings last fall, closing the season with a 6-4 overall record and a 5-2 mark in conference play.
