Montes, Nash, and Noland Lead Men's Basketball on Academic All-District Teams

GREENWOOD, IND. --- College Sports Communicators announced their Academic All-District teams for the 2023-24 season on Tuesday morning, naming three Men's Basketball starters to the list.
 
Junior transfer from South Puget Sound Community College, Jason Montes earns the first CSC Academic honors of his career after appearing in 24 games and earning 15 starts in the 2023-24 season. The Delta Junction, Alaska native averaged 11.2 points in 27 minutes per game, with his best effort coming at home against Whitworth as he dropped 22 points in the win. The junior guard is majoring in Kinesiology with a concentration in Pre-Physical Therapy.
 
Second Team All-Northwest Conference honoree Miles Nash finds himself on the Academic All-District team after making 23 starts in 24 games played in his first season in the black and gold. A transfer from Illinois Wesleyan, Nash averaged 16 points, 6.6 rebounds, and 3.6 assists per game this season. The Peoria, Ariz. Native eclipsed double-digit points in 19 games, with his personal best performance coming against Whitman in the final game of the season where he dropped 32 points. Nash is currently studying Finance.
 
Senior Guard Sam Noland also earned the CSC honors, as he started in all 25 games where he averaged 11.2 points on 42.5% shooting from the field this season. The Tualatin, Ore. native spent the last four seasons with the Lutes, racking up 845 points throughout his career. Noland's strongest showing was early in the season at UPS where he tallied 22 points on 10 made field goals. The senior continues to study Kinesiology at PLU.
 
Montes, Nash, and Noland led not only in the classroom but on the court, as the Men's Basketball team finished the season with a 14-11 record, featuring an impressive 9-4 record inside Olson Gymnasium.
