Lutes Battle Boxers 0-0 Draw

TACOMA, Wash.— The Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer battled back and forth with Pacific University (Ore.) resulting in a 0-0 draw on Saturday afternoon. 

PLU improves to 3-2-4, 3-0-2 Northwest Conference play. Lutes remain unbeaten in conference play and remain in second place in NWC standings. The last time these two sides tied was September 25, 2004 after a double overtime thriller in Oregon.

The first half was riddled by defensive stands by both sides totaling a combined effort of seven shots. The second half would pick up with several opportunities for PLU that were not able to be finished. Forwards Kiana Gutierrez and Zoe Markquart led the offense with four(two on goal) and five shots (four on goal) respectively.The Lutes posted 17 shots in total and nine shots on goal. 

PLU returns to action tomorrow to play Linfield University on East Field kick-off slated for a 12 PM start.
