Official NWC Release
HILLSBORO, Ore. — Rushing for three touchdowns and throwing another was more than enough ammunition for Pacific Lutheran University's
Jacob Schuh to win Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week accolades for the second time this fall.
The Mount Vernon, Washington native scampered for 285 yards in his final game as a Lute, averaging 11.4 yards per rush while also catching a pass for 25 yards. The senior also threw a five-yard touchdown pass in PLU's 55-21 rout of George Fox University to secure third place in the NWC standings.
Schuh eclipsed the 1,000-yard barrier for the season on Saturday, becoming the first PLU player to do so since Niko Madison in 2014. Schuh's 1,105 rushing yards this fall leads the NWC and ranks 25th in all of NCAA Division III. It's the third most rushing yards in a season for a Lute and the most rushing yards for a PLU running back over a 10-game regular season slate.Â
Â
This is the second time this season Schuh has won the award, being previously honored on Oct. 13 after rushing for a school record 327 yards against University of Puget Sound. It's also the eighth time a Lute has been recognized this fall, joining
Jackson Hale (offensive) and
Brock Kinch (special teams) on Nov. 10,
Anthony Mahaffey (offensive) and
Zachary Gable (defensive) on Oct. 20,
Cole Becker (defensive) on Oct. 6, and
Connor Meade (special teams) on Sept. 15.Â

The Lutes wrapped up the fall with a 6-4 overall record and a 5-2 mark in conference play, placing third or better in the league standings for the fourth consecutive year.
