TACOMA, Wash. — The nine-time Northwest Conference Champion Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer squad had three student-athletes recognized for success in the classroom on Wednesday with
Katelyn McDougal,
Liv Olson, and
Abby Winkler being named Scholar All-Region from United Soccer Coaches (USC).
The trio of McDougal, Olson, and Winkler were among the 12 student-athletes to secure Scholar All-West Region honors and the lone representatives to make the cut from the NWC.
An English major, McDougal is recognized as Scholar All-Region after earning First Team All-NWC, USC All-Region, and College Sports Communicators (CSC) Academic All-District earlier this fall. The Wilsonville, Oregon native anchored a defense that posted 13 shutouts in 20 games and allowed just seven goals all season.
A kinesiology major, Olson is honored as Scholar All-Region after also winning First Team All-Conference, USC All-Region, and CSC Academic All-District laurels. The Spokane, Washington native generated a team-best 10 goals, 21 points, and five game-winning goals during the 2025 campaign.

A biology major, Winkler lands her second honor of the day after also earning CSC Academic All-American honors on Wednesday. The Portland, Oregon native was also named First Team All-NWC, USC All-Region, and CSC Academic All-District this year. Winkler started all 20 games in goal, making 92 saves with a 0.36 goals against average.
The Lutes closed the season with a 12-2-6 overall record, capturing a share of the program's ninth straight league title after finishing off the NWC slate with a 12-0-4 record.Â
