HILLSBORO, Ore. —  The Pacific Lutheran University softball team steamrolled a half dozen teams in Florida over the weekend and on Monday was rewarded for its efforts, sweeping the Northwest Conference Player of the Week Awards.
Zoe Smithson was unstoppable at the plate and was tabbed NWC Hitter of the Week while
Rachel Treves was unhittable and named the NWC Pitcher of the Week.

Zoe Smithson secures Hitter of the Week after hitting .619 at the plate with eight extra base hits and 19 RBIs, helping the Lutes finish the weekend 6-0. The junior had an extra base hit and an RBI in all six games in Florida, finishing the weekend with two doubles three triples, and two home runs, including a grand slam. Smithson had a 1.381 slugging percentage and didn't strike out in her 21 at bats while scoring nine runs. The Port Angeles, Washington native finished with three hits against both Roger Williams University and Gordon College while blasting in four RBIs in three of the six games, including against Roger Williams, Saint Joseph's College, and Washington College.
Rachel Treves lands Pitcher of the Week after tossing a no-hitter and allowing no earned runs all weekend. The Bellevue, Washington native struck out five and allowed just one walk in a five-inning no-hitter against Widener University on Saturday. The righthander was back inside the circle the following day, striking out three in a complete game victory over Washington College.Â
While Treves was tabbed Pitcher of the Week she wasn't the only top notch pitching performance from the Lutes' with
Paige Wilson also tossing a no-hitter and finishing the weekend with 18 strikeouts.Â

The Lutes (10-2) obliterated their six opponents in Florida by a combined 59-6 margin over the three-day event, outhitting those Division III foes 61-10.Â
Pacific Lutheran opens its home slate on Saturday, hosting NWC preseason favorite Linfield University in a four-game series.Â
