Wilson Tabbed National Pitcher of the Week

TACOMA, Wash. — Pacific Lutheran University's Paige Wilson continues to rake in the accolades, earning the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday.

The Carlsbad, California lands the accolade after striking out 20 and tossing two complete games over the weekend, helping the Lutes (27-13, 17-11 NWC) extend their win streak to eight with a four-game sweep of crosstown nemesis University of Puget Sound.

Wilson, who on Monday was tabbed the Northwest Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this spring, struck out 12 in a 6-1 road win over the Loggers on Saturday before fanning eight and allowing just three hits in an 8-0 victory on Sunday to close out the regular season.

The sophomore finished the week with a 0.54 earned run average with 20 strikeouts over 13 innings of action.

Wilson and the Lutes begin postseason play on Friday, facing top-seeded Linfield University in the opening game of the 2025 NWC Tournament.
