TACOMA, Wash. — Pacific Lutheran University's
Paige Wilson continues to rake in the accolades, earning the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) National Pitcher of the Week honors on Tuesday.
Â
The Carlsbad, California lands the accolade after striking out 20 and tossing two complete games over the weekend, helping the Lutes (27-13, 17-11 NWC) extend their win streak to eight with a four-game sweep of crosstown nemesis University of Puget Sound.Â
Â
Wilson, who on Monday was tabbed the Northwest Conference Pitcher of the Week for the fourth time this spring, struck out 12 in a 6-1 road win over the Loggers on Saturday before fanning eight and allowing just three hits in an 8-0 victory on Sunday to close out the regular season.
The sophomore finished the week with a 0.54 earned run average with 20 strikeouts over 13 innings of action.Â
Wilson and the Lutes begin postseason play on Friday, facing top-seeded Linfield University in the opening game of the 2025 NWC Tournament. Â
