HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Northwest Conference office doled out the postseason award winners on Thursday for the sport of baseball with six Pacific Lutheran University student-athletes earning recognition.
Aaron Barber led the way as a First Team All-Conference selection while
Alex Lopez was tabbed the NWC Rookie of the Year.
Aaron Barber was the lone Lute to secure First Team All-NWC honors with
Rutger Youch and
Alex Lopez both earning Second Team All-Conference.
Brody Phinney,
Carson Burke, and
Braeden Lundberg all landed Honorable Mention All-NWC.

Aaron Barber earns First Team All-Conference for the second consecutive season. Honorable Mention All-League in 2023 and First Team All-Conference last spring, the Seattle native led the Lutes offensively this year, boasting a .354 batting average with a team-best 31 RBIs. The second basemen scored 28 runs, had 11 extra base hits and struck out just eight times in his 144 at-bats during the 2025 campaign.Â
Rutger Youch nabs Second Team All-NWC after being an Honorable Mention selection last spring. The Newcastle, Washington native had a .329 batting average with a team-high nine doubles. The outfielder had 23 RBIs on the season, scored 27 runs, and had a team-high 18 stolen bases.Â
Alex Lopez secures Second Team All-Conference and NWC Rookie of the Year after a phenomenal debut season in the black and gold. The Gresham, Oregon native made 13 appearances on the mound and made seven starts, leading the team in innings pitched with 60. Lopez had a 3.00 earned run average and a 5-2 record with two complete games and one save. Lopez struck out 34 and tossed three innings of scoreless relief against the University of Washington. Lopez becomes the first Lute to win NWC Rookie of the Year since Andy Schmitz won it during the 2019 campaign.

Brody Phinney was recognized as Honorable Mention All-NWC at first base. The Olympia, Washington native hit .314 at the plate with 27 runs scored and 19 RBIs. Phinney cranked out four home runs this season, had 10 extra base hits, and led the team with 243 putouts.Â

Carson Burke was named Honorable Mention All-Conference at third base. The Seattle native provided the power for the Lutes in 2025, blasting a team-high nine home runs and finishing the year with 14 extra base hits. Burke had 26 RBIs and scored 23 runs with seven stolen bases.

Braeden Lundberg collected Honorable Mention All-League at shortstop. A Second Team All-NWC selection in both 2022 and 2023, the Gig Harbor, Washington native missed all of last season due to injury. Lundberg's comeback season included belting seven extra base hits, collecting 19 RBIs and scoring 19 runs. Lundberg stole eight bases while defensively had 47 putouts and 121 assists, helping turn 12 double plays.Â

The Lutes wrapped up the 2025 season with a 17-22 overall record and a 9-15 mark in NWC action. Pacific Lutheran owned an 11-8 record at home this season and earned victories over teams from all three NCAA divisions, including a 3-1 upset of the University of Washington back on March 18.Â
