Reisner Drops 18 as Lutes Drop Road Contest to Bruins 75-45

NEWBERG, ORE.— Sydney Reisner led the Pacific Lutheran University women's basketball team scoring 16 of her game-high 18 points in the first half, but the Bruins of George Fox University ultimately prevailed winning 75-45 on Saturday afternoon.

George Fox came out aggressive on the offensive end to begin the game attacking the basket early and often. PLU would counter as Reisner and Ghadir Ramadan got to the cup and the free throw line on multiple possessions to limit the Bruin lead to only seven 21-14 at the end of the first.

Reisner would start the second quarter with back-to-back layups getting to the rim to reduce the lead to eight. The Bruins lead would balloon up to at most 17 points in the 2nd quarter. Kylie Griffin ended the first half on good note hitting consecutive jumpers to end the half.

PLU went on a run of their own to begin the second half as Lilli Williams got things going in the mid-range game. Ava Bright, Ramadan, and Griffin would earn trips to the charity stripe cashing in and cutting the lead of the Bruins down to nine. George Fox would never look back as they continued to pour it on offensively for the remainder of the game shooting 50 percent from the field scoring 16 points in the 4th and holding PLU to 0-16 from the field.

Ramadan would finish one point away from a second consecutive double-double with nine points and 10 rebounds. Griffin would also finish the game with nine points, two assists, and two rebounds.

PLU returns to action on Tuesday, February 3rd as they face the Loggers of University of Puget Sound with tip-off slated for 5:30 PM.
