HILLSBORO, Ore. — Pacific Lutheran University baseball student-athlete
Logan Egge picked up wins in a pair of extra inning relief appearances over the weekend and on Monday was recognized for his efforts, landing Northwest Conference Pitcher of the Week.
The Bothell, Washington native earned two wins on the road, tossing 4 1/3 innings of scoreless ball between a pair of extra-inning games, allowing just one hit and striking out two.
Egge threw the final 1 2/3 innings in the series opener against Pacific University on Saturday, allowing just one hit and no walks in a 7-6 victory in 11 innings. The junior was called back out of the bullpen later that day, logging the final 2 2/3 innings of another 7-6 11-inning victory to secure the doubleheader sweep and give the Lutes the series win over the Boxers.
Egge is the second Lute to earn Player of the Week this spring, joining
Asa Reese who was the NWC Hitter of the Week on Feb. 23.Â
The Lutes are back in action on Wednesday, hosting George Fox University at 2 p.m.Â
