TACOMA, Wash. — College Sports Communicators announced its Academic All-District winners for the sport of women's basketball on Tuesday with four Pacific Lutheran University student-athletes being recognized.
Sydney Reisner earns the accolade for the third straight season and is joined by first time honorees
Kylie Griffin,
Ghadir Ramadan, and
Emi Wada.
A senior mathematics major from Burlington, Washington,
Sydney Reisner earns the honor for the third time in her career. A Second Team All-Northwest Conference selection this winter, Reisner led te team in scoring, averaging 13.9 points per game. That includes draining a team-high 34 threes and finishing second on the team in steals with 29.
A junior business major from Lake Tapps, Washington,
Kylie Griffin is named CSC Academic All-District for the first time in her career. Griffin played in 22 games this season, starting 17 games and averaging 7.4 points per game and 4.1 rebounds per game.
A junior business major from Bainbridge Island, Washington,
Ghadir Ramadan is a first time winner of the Academic All-District award. Ramadan appeared in all 25 games this season and made 14 starts. Ramadan led the team on the glass, averaging 5.9 rebounds per game wile adding 6.8 points per game.
A senior biology major from Aiea, Hawaii,
Emi Wada is earning CSC Academic All-District for the first time. Wada played all 25 games this winter, starting all but three. Wada averaged 5.8 points per game and led the team in assists with 71.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes needed to have a minimum of a 3.5 grade point average, be sophomore standing, and have competed in 90 percent of the institution's matches or have started in at least 66 percent of the institution's matches.
The four Lutes were among the 24 players from the NWC to be recognized as Academic All-District, representing eight of the NWC's nine schools. PLU was one of five institutions to have four Academic All-District selections, being joined by George Fox University, Linfield University, Pacific University, and University of Puget Sound.
