Why Row at PLU?

  • Championship Tradition: 8 NCAA Championship appearances and a national reputation for developing top-tier student-athletes.

  • High-Level Student-Athlete Experience: Rooted in five decades of excellence, our program competes against the best in the Northwest and across the country, while training on the prime waters of American Lake and specialized facilities right on campus.

  • The DIII Advantage: Non-transactional rowing centered on pure love for the sport, where elite athletics and top-tier academics complement each other.

Who We're Looking For

  • Experienced Rowers: We value steady growth over strict benchmarks. Show us consistent technical and athletic progress in high school, and our coaches will develop you into a champion.

  • New Rowers/Multi-Sport Athletes: No rowing experience? No problem. Many of our top varsity rowers picked up an oar for the first time at PLU, bringing athletic energy, curiosity, and grit from other sports.

  • Driven Students: With a 3.5+ team GPA, we seek student-athletes who bring the same dedication to the classroom as they do to the water.
