The Northwest Conference office released its weekly award winners on Oct. 1 with Pacific Lutheran University student-athlete Austin Darnell earning the NWC's Men's Golfer of the Week.
 
Darnell captures the honor after winning the UPS Invitational on Sunday at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in Bremerton, Washington. The sophomore won medalist honors after defeating teammate Jordan Brajcich in a playoff. Darnell carded a 140 for the tournament, shooting a 71 on Saturday and a 69 on Sunday. Both Darnell and Brajcich held a five stroke lead on the next closest competitor, helping the Lutes run away with the team title, besting runner-up North Idaho College by 17 strokes.
