MCMINNVILLE, Ore. - The Pacific Lutheran University men's tennis team hit the courts for the fourth time in five days on Saturday afternoon, dropping a 6-3 decision to Northwest Conference rival Linfield College.

"I'm very proud of this team, we played inspired tennis all day despite getting home from California at midnight yesterday and getting into a van at 8:30 to trek down to Linfield this morning," said Head Coach John Cassens.

All three of PLU's (3-9, 3-5 NWC) victories came in singles play, with Ryan Adams, Niko Convento, and Justin DeMattos all coming away with wins. Adams needed three sets to emerge a winner, downing the Wildacts' (5-11, 4-5 NWC) No. 1 Tyler Linscott, 4-6, 6-2, 1-0 (10-7). Convento rolled to the, 6-2, 6-3, victory over Ben McNair at No. 2 singles while Justin DeMattos rebounded from an opening set defeat to secure the, 1-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-6), win.

In doubles DeMattos and Convento pushed Linfield's Nathan Saragoza and John Lutaaya to a tiebreaker, ultimately getting edged 9-8 (7-5).

The Lutes return to the courts tomorrow at 10 a.m., hosting Pacific University at the Lakewood Racket Club.
