TACOMA, Wash. – On Senior Day at the PLU Pool, the Pacific Lutheran University men's swimming team honored its lone senior
Jeff Lozensky on Saturday, but the Lutes couldn't keep their unbeaten record intact, falling to Whitworth University 122-83.

Alex Johannessen did the heavy lifting for the Lutes on Saturday. Johannessen earned PLU's first victory of the day in the 200-yard freestyle, as he topped the field by nearly a second (1:47.00). Later in the meet, the freshman from Las Vegas earned a victory in the 500 free (4:51.48).
Trieu was the fastest man in the pool on Saturday, edging teammate
Hayden Mortensen for the 50 free title (21.81). The junior also claimed a victory in the 100 free (47.99). Trieu and Johannessen both swam with
Seth Koivisto and Mortensen on the Lutes' second-place 400 medley relay team. That foursome also finished runner-up in the meet's final race, the 400 free relay.
Koivisto accounted for PLU's other title on Saturday. The junior won the 200 breaststroke in 2:14.80, while also finishing second in the in the 200 individual medley.
In his final home meet as a Lute, Lozensky finished fourth in the 1,000 free (10:48.64), fifth in the 200 IM (2:11.70) and fourth in the 200 breaststroke (2:22.71).
PLU will head to Oregon next weekend to take on Linfield College on Friday at 6:00 p.m. and Pacific University on Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
