TACOMA, Wash. - The NCAA women's soccer committee released its regional rankings for Division III on Wednesday with Pacific Lutheran University ranking fifth in Region X.
 
The Lutes (14-2 overall, 11-2 vs. Division III opponents) are one of two Northwest Conference institutions to be ranked, sitting fifth while crosstown nemesis University of Puget Sound (14-0-2, 12-0-2) ranks third. 
 
A pair of Texas squads sit atop the rankings in Trinity University (12-2-1, 12-1-1) and Southwestern University (13-1-1, 13-1-1). Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (12-1-2, 12-1-2) is fourth with Hardin-Simmons University (12-2, 11-2) and California Lutheran University (10-3-4, 10-3-4) rounding out the poll in sixth and seventh.
 
Region X encompasses what is generally regarded as the West Region of NCAA Division III, incorporating colleges from the NWC, American Southwest Conference, Southern California Intercollegiate Athletic Conference, and the Southern Collegiate Athletic Conference. 
 
The Lutes, 10-2 in NWC play, host Pacific University on Saturday at East Field. Kickoff is set for 12 p.m.
