White Lands NWC Weekly Honor

Official NWC Release

HILLSBORO, Ore. - Keeping a pair of opponents off the scoreboard while scoring a goal of his own has earned Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer student-athlete Alex White the Northwest Conference Defensive Player of the Week Award on Monday afternoon.

The Henderson, Nevada native played all 180 minutes over the weekend, directing the Lutes (5-2, 2-0 NWC) to a 5-0 road win over George Fox University on Saturday and a 3-0 road win at Pacific University on Sunday. In the Lutes' 5-0 thumping of George Fox, White scored in the 85th minute in a contest that saw the Lutes limit the Bruins to just one total shot. It was more of the same the next day against Pacific, allowing just four Boxer shots. Over the course of the weekend, White and the defense allowed just five total shots and only two total shots on goal.

The Lutes are back in action on Saturday, hosting Whitman College at 2:30 p.m. on East Field.
