YAKIMA, Wash. – The Pacific Lutheran University men's golf team defeated University of Puget Sound and Whitworth University in match play over the last two afternoons to lock up the Washington Cup championship at Yakima Country Club.

The Lutes had no issues dominating their crosstown rivals on Saturday to open the tournament. Josh Clogston needed just 13 holes to defeat his opponent for the biggest win of the day as he led by six holes with just five to play. Reigning Northwest Conference Golfer of the Week
Josh Cross knocked off his opponent after 16 holes after leading by four.Â
Ryan Pearson and
Gunner Nielsen won by three holes after 16 and
Caden Arnold won the final hole to squeak out a victory and complete the sweep.Â
Simon Luedtke dominated the exhibition match as well as he led by five holes after 14 complete.Â
