HILLSBORO, Ore. — Pacific Lutheran University men's soccer's
Owen Bliskis continues to score goals and on Monday was recognized for his efforts, landing Northwest Conference Offensive Player of the Week accolades.
The junior forward tallied two goals over the weekend, including the game-winner against Lewis & Clark College as the Lutes tallied a pair of road wins and outscored their two Oregon opponents by a combined 8-2 scoreline.
The Spanaway, Washington native scored in the 67th minute to put PLU ahead 2-1 in a 3-1 victory over Lewis & Clark. The following day, Bliskis scored in the 22nd minute on a penalty kick, part of a four goal opening half for the Lutes in a 5-01 victory.
Bliskis currently leads the Lutes (8-3-3, 7-0-3 NWC) in scoring with eight goals and is one goal shy of the NWC lead.
This is the fourth time this season a Lute has earned NWC Player of the Week honors and the first time this fall a Lute has won Offensive Player of the Week.
Gio Aguilar-Gutierrez was Defensive Player of the Week on Oct. 13 and Sept. 29 while
Chris Jamrok won the honor on Sept. 8.
The Lutes close out their five game road swing on Wednesday with a midweek tilt against crosstown rival University of Puget Sound. Kickoff is set for 2:45 p.m. at UPS's Baker Stadium.
