Sabarillo & Pullin Finish Strong at Confluence Classic

WALLA WALLA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University women's golf team closed out the fall season on a high note on Monday, competing at the Confluence Classic hosted by Whitman College. 

Both of PLU's golfers finished inside the top 30, with Kate Sabarillo leading the way. Sabarillo shot an 86 during round one on Sunday at Veterans Memorial Golf Course before carding an 87 on Monday at Wine Valley Golf Course. Her total tally of 173 was good for 24th overall. Sabarillo had six pars during Sunday's opening round while making nine pars during round two.

Kathleen Pullin was four strokes back in 26th overall, shooting a 177. Pullin carded a 90 during Sunday's opening round before shaving off three strokes on Monday at Wine Valley. Her weekend included two pars in round one while making seven pars on Monday.

Whitman's Beatrice Archer won medalist honors, shooting a 150 (71-79). George Fox University won the team title with a score of 619 (305-314). PLU did not have enough competitors to yield a team score.
