TACOMA, Wash. — The eight-time defending Northwest Conference Champion Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer team is holding the torch for the entire league as the NWC's only representative in the NCAA's Regional Rankings released this week.
The Lutes (9-2-5, 9-0-3 NWC) rank sixth in the Region X poll. California schools reign supreme in the region, owning the top three spots. Pomona-Pitzer Colleges (12-0-3) leads the way followed by Claremont-Mudd-Scripps Colleges (11-2-3) and California Lutheran University (12-2-2).
Texas teams round out the poll with University of Mary Hardin-Baylor (7-4-6) ranked fourth, Hardin-Simmons University (8-3-2) ranked fifth, and Texas Lutheran University (10-3-2) sitting seventh.
Pacific Lutheran embarks on its final road trip of the regular season this weekend, putting its 520-minute shutout streak on the line on Saturday against host Linfield University. Kickoff is set for 11 a.m.
