Gutierrez Grabs Player of the Week Honor

Official NWC Release

HILLSBORO, Ore. — A goal and a pair of assists was more than enough firepower to earn notice from the Northwest Conference office with Pacific Lutheran University women's soccer's Kiana Gutierrez earning NWC Offensive Player of the Week honors on Monday.

The senior forward assisted on the game-winning goal on Saturday as the eight-time defending NWC Champion Lutes opened up conference play with a 1-0 victory over George Fox University. The Auburn, Washington native followed up that effort by scoring the game winning goal and assisting on another in Sunday's 2-0 shutout of Lewis & Clark College.

Gutierrez currently leads the Lutes in goals (two), assists (two), and points (six) through the opening six games of the 2025 campaign.

This is the first ever Player of the Week award for Gutierrez and is the second time this season a Lute has been honored. Goalkeeper Abby Winkler was the NWC Defensive Player of the Week back on Sept. 8.

Gutierrez and the Lutes are back on the pitch on Wednesday, hosting crosstown nemesis University of Puget Sound at 4 p.m.
