DUPONT, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University women's golf squad finished its first tournament of the fall on Tuesday with transfer
Kate Sabarillo leading the way at the Grisham Memorial Shootout at The Home Course.
The Bellevue College transfer shot an 82 during Monday's opening round before carding a 91 on Tuesday. Sabarillo's two-round tally of 173 was good for 59th overall while teammate
Kathleen Pullin was eight strokes back in 64th. Pullin shot a 92 on Monday before shaving off three strokes during the final round, shooting an 89 on Tuesday.
Emily Alicea had the Lutes' best round of the tournament, carding an 81 on Monday but didn't play during Tuesday's final round.
University of Hawaii-Hilo's Kiersten Saludares won medalist honors, shooting an even par 144 (72-72) for the tournament. Canada's Simon Fraser University captured the team title with a tally of 591 (293-298) in a field that featured eight Division II schools. Northwest Conference rival George Fox University finished seventh with a 620 (314-306). PLU did not register a team score at the tournament.
The Lutes return to The Home Course next Monday, hosting the annual Pacific Lutheran Invitational.Â
