DUPONT, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University women's golf team's
Kathleen Pullin and
Kate Sabarillo both shaved off strokes from round one to round two, registering Top 15 showings at the 2025 PLU Invitational at The Home Course.
Pullin finished tied for seventh overall while Sabarillo was two strokes back in 11th as the only two Lute competitors at the event.Â
Pullin shot a season-best 177 for the tournament, carding a 91 during Monday's opening round while slicing off five strokes on Tuesday with an 86, a round that included six pars. Sabarillo was consistent over the two rounds, shooting a 90 on Monday and an 89 on Tuesday.
"Kathleen and Kate both played good today and they both improved from round one," said Head Coach Al Patterson.Â

"Kathleen especially got quite a bit better. She shot 86 today so that's a good score for her and she should be proud of herself. Kate also improved got better today so that's a good sign."Â

Bellevue College's Hadley McDonough won medalist honors, shooting a 161 (84-77) to win the tournament by six strokes. University of Puget Sound won the team title by 16 strokes with Bellevue taking second place. PLU did not record a team score at the event.

Emily Alicea back and able to play in the conference championships. I have high hopes for Emily this year I think if she was able to compete today she would've been right there to win it."Â

It's a short week for the Lutes who will hit the road and compete at the Pacific Invitational on Saturday in North Plains, Oregon at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club.
