McMINNVILLE, Ore. - Winning all six singles pairings in straight
sets, the Linfield Wildcats ran their season record to 6-2 with a
9-0 blanking of Northwest Conference foe Pacific Lutheran Friday
afternoon at the Linfield Tennis Center.
The Wildcats also were dominating in doubles, winning all three
flights by no less than a four-point margin. Tina Aarsvold and
Heidi Weston had the best result, pushing Sarah Watanabe and Sarah
Click before finally dropping an 8-4 decision.
In singles play, the Lutes won only 11 games against the
Wildcats, who are ranked No. 8 in Division III West Region women's
tennis.
PLU, now 1-8 overall and 1-7 in the conference, hosts its annual
Alumni event at 1 p.m. Saturday at the PLU tennis courts.
