HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Northwest Conference office released its weekly award winners on Monday with Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis student-athlete
Jillian Chong earning NWC Player of the Week.
The Federal Way, Washington native secures the award after collecting three wins in singles play and two in doubles action to help the Lutes (5-2) win a pair of dual matches.Â
Chong rallied to a, 2-6, 6-2, 6-0, win over Hyla Chatham at No. 3 singles in PLU's 6-1 win over crosstown rival University of Puget Sound on Wednesday before rolling to a, 6-2, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles in the Lutes' 6-3 home opening win over Highline College on Friday night. The junior finished off the week with a, 6-0, 6-4, win over College of Idaho's Morgan Leavitt on Saturday afternoon.

Meggie Burnett earned an 8-6 win over UPS at No. 2 and an 8-2 win over Highline's No. 2 doubles team.
Chong and the Lutes are back on the court on Saturday, hosting Community Colleges of Spokane at 3:30 p.m. inside Galbraith Tennis Center.Â
