TACOMA - Saiyare Refaei and Deanna Ellmer both picked up singles wins but Pacific Lutheran dropped a 7-2 Northwest Conference women's tennis match to visiting Whitman College on Friday afternoon.

Refaei beat Lizzy Schiller, 3-6, 6-0, 6-1, at No. 4, and Ellmer got the measure of Maggie Eismeier, 6-2, 7-5, at No. 5.

The loss drops PLU to 2-15 overall and 0-11 in the conference, while Whitman improves to 10-8 overall and 8-3 in the NWC.

PLU finishes its season on Saturday morning when it hosts Whitworth, unbeaten in 11 NWC matches.
