WALLA WALLA - Whitman remained unbeated in Northwest Conference women's tennis by blanking Pacific Lutheran, 9-0, in a match played Friday.

Valery Jorgensen and Catherine Miolla had a close match at No. 3 doubles, dropping an 8-6 decision to Kate Kunkel-Patterson and Hannah Palkowitz.

Payton McGriff took Jenna Dobrin to a super tiebreaker at No. 3 singles before falling, 3-6, 6-1, 1-0 (10-8). Other than that, the Missionaries lost only eight total games.

PLU, now 7-9 overall and 5-6 in the conference, closes out its 2013 season with a match at Whitworth on Saturday.
