TACOMA, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University athletic department continued to excel in the classroom during the spring semester, with the Lutes boasting a 3.44 grade point average.

PLU's nearly 400 student-athletes navigated a hybrid learning experience for the third consecutive semester with 50 Lutes earning a 4.0 this spring and 307 securing a GPA above a 3.0. As a department, the Lutes boast a 3.45 cumulative grade point average and a 3.44 GPA for the spring semester.

Leading the way this spring was women's tennis with a 3.83 semester GPA and a 3.71 cumulative GPA. Women's swimming and women's soccer had the next best semester GPAs, both finishing with a 3.76. Baseball was the top men's program with a 3.50 GPA while men's golf boasted the highest percentage of 4.0 student-athletes, with 44 percent of the squad attaining a perfect GPA in the 2021 spring semester.

In addition to success in the classroom, the Lutes continued to flex its muscles on the field of play, winning the Northwest Conference title in women's rowing, the "Washington State" title in men's soccer, and women's swimming while women's track & field's
Bailey Forsyth won two national titles.Â
