Shannon's favorite memories from her time as a Lute swimmer are supporting her teammates at the Northwest Conference Championships. She remembers standing and cheering behind the diving blocks at conference and loving the excitement of watching her teammates be successful.
Shannon believes her time as a Lute swimmer has prepared her for life after PLU by teaching her how to, "show up and be dedicated even when you have other stuff in your life going on."
Her teammates have impacted her in many ways, but the one that stands out for Shannon is remembering to laugh whenever she can.
In the water, the Alaska native was a five-time All-Northwest Conference selection and helped the Lutes win three straight NWC dual meet titles and the NWC "Washington State" title this spring. Shannon's tenure saw the Lutes go 26-4 in dual meets, including a 24-2 mark against NWC schools. Her efforts helped the Lutes go 13-1 in home dual meets, including an undefeated record against NWC competition at the PLU Pool.
Off the pool deck, Shannon is a member of the Student Athlete Advisory Committee and the Kinesiology Club. She spent many hours studying in the library with her friends and teammates.
Shannon graduated with a degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Pre-Occupational Therapy and a minor in Physiology and plans to attend an occupational therapy graduate program.
