Day 1 Results
BOISE, Idaho -- Riley Maher and
Karina Yevstifieieva both cracked the A finals on Friday evening, helping the Pacific Lutheran University women's swimming team to be sixth overall after day one of the 2026 Northwest Conference Championships at the Idaho Central Aquatic Center.
Riley Maher muscled onto the podium, placing sixth overall in the 200-yard individual medley, clocking a time of two minutes, 14.32 seconds during the evening session. Maher wasn't the only Lute in the 200 IM with
Harper Canessa placing 13th overall and fifth in the B final in 2:21.62.
Karina Yevstifieieva was seventh in the 50-yard freestyle, sprinting to the wall in 24.89 while
Julissa Pernsteiner was 13th overall and fifth in the B final in 25.25.
Kei Nishikawa was third in the B final and 11th overall in the 500-yard freestyle, touching the wall in 5:23.45.
The Lutes placed seventh in the 200-yard freestyle relay (1:42.44) to begin the night session and closed it out with a fourth-place finish in the 400-yard freestyle relay (4:02.48).
PLU racked up 94 points and sit sixth overall amongst the nine=team field. PLU sits 18 points shy of fourth place, currently occupied by both Linfield University and George Fox University. Whitworth University sits atop the standings, accruing 211 points during day one with University of Puget Sound second (147 points).

The Lutes are back in the pool tomorrow morning with session three underway at 9:30 a.m. (Mountain Time).
