Eight Lutes Earn Academic All-District Honors

TACOMA, Wash.— The Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's swimming programs were honored for the success in the pool and inside the classroom as eight student-athletes earned College Sports Comunicatiors (CSC) Academic All-District on Tuesday.

Dylan Dang, August Hertz, Aidan Koshinsky, and Tyler Tanaka from the men's team were all recognized as Academic All-District while Lola Chargualaf, Emma Gassman, Anna Haneda, and Riley Maher from the woman's team were also selected.

A senior nursing major from San Jose, California, Dylan Dang secures Academic All-District for the first time in his career after finishing 14th in the 200-yard butterfly at the 2026 Northwest Conference Championships back in February.

A sophomore physics and computer science major from Charlo, Montana, August Hertz earns the honor for the first time after helping the Lutes 400-yard freestyle relay finish sixth at the NWC championships.

A junior biology and biochemistry major from DuPont, Washington, Aidan Koshinsky earns honor after competing in every meet this season for Lutes competing in the 100, 200, and 500-yard freestyles primarily.

A senior nursing major. Tyler Tanka garners the CSC award for the second consecutive year after finishing fifth in the 200-yard breastroke, sixth in the 100-yard breastroke, and sixth in 200-yard IM at the NWC championships.

A sophomore environmental studies major, Lola Chargualaf earns her first CSC honor after placing eighth in the 200-yard backstroke at the NWC championships.

A senior nursing major from Sitka, Alaska secured All-District honors for the second consecutive year a dominant performance at the NWC Championships earning First Team All-Conference honors in the 200-yard backstroke and 100-yard backstroke.

Anna Haneda, a senior economics and philosophy major, obtained All-District accolades for the second time in her career after helping lead the Lutes to a 3rd place finish at the NWC championships.

A junior nursing major from Eugene, Oregon, Riley Maher rounds out the CSC Academic All-District honorees earning the recognition for the first time, after All-Conference in the 200-yard IM, 400-yard individual medley, and 200-yard breastroke.

PLU finished the season finishing 5th on the men's side and 3rd on the women's side at the 2026 NWC Championships, which was the program's best finish since the 2022 season.
