Lute Salute Series

TACOMA, Wash. - For the past four years, Pacific Lutheran University women's tennis student-athlete Hannah Jeffries has been a leader on campus, whether she's on the tennis courts or in the residence halls.

Highlights: 4-time NWC All-Academic 2021 ITA Acholar-Athlete 18 wins in singles & doubles

 
In addition to her studies and time on the tennis court, the Chehalis, Washington native served as a resident assistant for the past three years and was a laboratory teaching assistant for a variety of courses. 
 
It's the multiple leadership roles that helped Jeffries juggle her time efficiently. At times it has provided a source of entertainment, including seeing a mattress sliding down the main stairs in South Hall.
 
Jeffries graduated with a degree in biochemistry with a minor in Hispanic studies. Her time on campus included winning four letters as a member of the PLU women's tennis team, earning Northwest Conference All-Academic honors all four seasons, and helping the women's tennis program win the athletic department's Team GPA Award in three of the past four seasons.

Jeffries was involved with Lutes Lead and this spring earned the Laurie Turner Leadership Award along with earning the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association Scholar Athlete Award. The Chehalis native additionally was inducted into Chi Alpha Sigma, a national honors society for student-athletes. 
 
Jeffries is continuing her education this fall, pursuing a PhD in chemistry at the University of Washington.
