EUGENE, Ore. - The Pacific Lutheran University track & field programs sent a small squad to the University of Oregon's iconic Hayward Field on Friday night, competing at the Oregon Twilight meet.
Grady Lemma was the top collegiate finisher in the 110-meter hurdles, blazing down the straightaway in 15.02 seconds. Lemma later placed fourth in the 400-meter hurdles in 56.41.
Alicia-Ellalynn Soliai finished third in the shot put with a personal best throw of 41 feet, seven inches. Soliai was the top D3 competitor, placing behind throwers from host University of Oregon and D2 Western Washington University.
Teuila Ilalio was sixth with a mark of 39' 8 3/4" with
Georjina Soliai seventh with a heave of 38' 7".
Alicia-Ellalynn Soliai also placed ninth in the discus with a toss of 120' 2".
Micah Ragaza-Bourassa was seventh in the hammer throw with a personal best heave of 139' 8" while placing 10th in the shot put (41' 3 3/4").
Later in the meet,
Stefans Lusis was eighth in the 3,000-meter steeplechase, missing a PR by a split second after crossing the line in 9:17.72 as the top D3 finisher.
Anna Iverson had a monster PR in the 5,000-meters. Competing against a trio of Oregon Ducks, Iverson zipped around the oval in 18:15.56, cutting almost 10 seconds off her previous personal best.
"It was good to get back to Hayward," said Head Coach
Trey Henderson.
"It's always a great experience for our kids competing here and we had some solid PR's today. We have a few more meets to go and hopefully we can keep getting good marks."
Friday's meet was held at Oregon's Hayward Field which is serving as host site for both the 2024 NCAA Division I Outdoor Championships and the U.S. Olympic Trials this summer.
The Lutes are back in action tomorrow, sending a small group of competitors to the Portland Twilight.
