Official NWC Release

HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Northwest Conference office released its weekly award winners on Monday with Pacific Lutheran University men's track & field student-athlete Micah Ragaza-Bourassa earning NWC Field Athlete of the Week honors.

The junior from Cheney, Washington was the top finishing Division III competitor in the hammer throw on Friday afternoon, braving a mix of snow and rain to uncork a toss of 159 feet, zero inches and place fourth overall. 

A linebacker on the football team in the fall, Ragaza-Bourassa currently owns the sixth best hammer throw mark in NCAA Division III this season with a throw of 168' 9" from the outdoor opening Ed Boitano Invitational. His mark also ranks as the 42nd best mark in the NCAA this spring across all three divisions.

Ragaza-Bourassa is the second straight Lute to win NWC Field Athlete of the Week with jumper Seth Kramer securing the award last Monday.

The Lutes are back in action on Friday, hosting day one of the Brad Moore Invitational.
