HILLSBORO, Ore. — For the third time this season Pacific Lutheran University goalkeeper
Abby Winkler is the Northwest Conference Player of the Week, securing the honor on Monday after making 10 saves in a pair of road games in Oregon.
The Portland native logged her 10
th shutout of the season on Saturday as the Lutes (10-2-6, 10-0-4 NWC) bested host Linfield University 1-0 before making nine saves in a 1-1 draw with Pacific University the following day. Sunday's draw with the Boxers saw Winkler's shutouts streak come to a close after 693 minutes, a streak spanning across eight games.Â
Winkler was previously named NWC Player of the Week on Oct. 13 and Sept. 8. Winkler is one of three Lutes to be recognized as Player of the Week along with offensive players
Kiana Gutierrez (Sept. 22) and
Liv Olson (Oct. 13).

The eight-time NWC Champion Lutes sit tied atop the league standings with two games to play in the regular season. PLU hosts instate rivals Whitworth University on Saturday and Whitman College on Sunday at East Field with both games kicking off at 12 p.m.Â
