Lutes Shine in Third and Final Seattle Indoor Meet

SEATTLE, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University men's and women's track & field teams competed in its third and final indoor meet at the University of Washington over the weekend, turning in a strong showing at the Husky Classic inside the Dempsey Indoor Facility.
 
"It was a solid two days. It was nice to see Ki PR in the pole vault and the rest of the group had good solid days," said Head Coach Trey Henderson.
 
"Right now is about seeing technical growth and we've been seeing that. It was also great to see some of our sprinters get their first competition as well."

Ki Neir headlined Friday's efforts, clearing 11 feet, 1 ¾ inches in her collegiate debut. The Yelm, Washington native's performance was good for 13th overall and puts Neir third in the program's all-time top 25 list for the event.

Elsewhere in the field events, Madison Downey was eighth overall and the top NCAA Division III performer in the triple jump, leaping 34' 8 ¼" while Kyleigh Archer was just two inches back in ninth (34' 6 ¼"). Downey additionally competed in the pole vault.
 
D'Yhana Clemons made her indoor debut on Saturday, sprinting across the line in 8.39 seconds to finish 16thin the 60-meter dash.  
 
On the men's side, Blake Leahy placed sixth overall in the pole vault, clearing 12' 9 ½" in his season debut while Grady Lemma was seventh in the 60-meter hurdles in 8.47.  Bridger Hanis was 10th in the high jump, clearing 5' 8 ¾" while Seth Kramer was 15th in the long jump with a mark of 21' 4".
 
Kellen Meade made is 2025 debut in the 60-meters, clocking a time of 7.21 to place 16th while Kaiman Satterfield was 19th in the same event in 7.48. 

The Lutes take the rest of the month off, returning to action on March 1st when they open the outdoor season across town at the University of Puget Sound's Ed Boitano Invitational.
