SPOKANE, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University men's track & field team had five podium finishers on Sunday, closing out the 2026 Northwest Conference Championships eighth overall in the team standings.
On the track,
Tyger Willingham placed sixth in the 100-meters, cruising down the straightaway in 11.14 seconds while PLU's 4x100-meter relay squad placed seventh in 42.61.
In the field events,
Hunter Kleindl cleared 13 feet, 10 and ½ inch in the pole vault, placing fourth overall while
Garrett Armbruster was eighth with a vault of 13' 4 ½".
Bridger Hanis placed sixth in the triple jump with a leap of 42' 10 ¼" while
George Sonko was 12th in the discus with a toss of 130' 2" and
Trevor Coble was 14th in the javelin (145' 5").
"There was a lot to be proud of this weekend," said Head Coach
Trey Henderson.
"There's a lot of growth ahead for us and the staff is excited to keep developing that. Most importantly, the team represented PLU the right way with how they competed and carried themselves."
Day one on Saturday saw a pair of fourth place finishes from Hanis and
Micah Ragaza-Bourassa. Hanis was fourth in the high jump, clearing 6' 3 ¼" while Ragaza-Bourassa took the same podium spot in the hammer throw with a heave of 170' 3".
PLU tallied 23.5 points in the team standings to place eighth overall, falling 5.5 points shy of seventh place Linfield University. George Fox University took the team title with 214.5 points.
