ELLENSBURG, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University men's track and field team turned in a strong showing Saturday at the Wildcat Invitational, highlighted by a first-place finish and multiple podium performances.
Micah Ragaza-Bourassa led the way for the Lutes, winning the hammer throw with a mark of 160 feet, 10 inches. The victory paced a productive day in the field events for Pacific Lutheran.
George Sonko added a third-place finish in the discus with a throw of 141-1, while Hunter Kleindl placed third in the triple jump (41-3.25). Garrett Armbruster also reached the podium, finishing third in the pole vault at 13-3.75.
On the track, the Lutes' 4x100-meter relay team of Tyger Willingham, Jack Erickson, Seth Kramer and Kaden Watts placed third in 43.25 seconds. Jack Erickson added an individual top-five finish, taking fifth in the 400 meters in 53.17.
In the jumps, Willingham placed fifth in the long jump with a mark of 21-0.25, and Trevor Coble finished fourth in the javelin (146-6), rounding out a well-balanced performance across events.
Pacific Lutheran continues its outdoor season next weekend at the Lewis & Clark Invitational as it builds toward the Northwest Conference Championships.
