SPOKANE, Wash. — Three Lutes trekked across the state on Wednesday, representing the Pacific Lutheran University track & field program at the Whitworth Last Chance Meet.
Kyleigh Archer and
Madison Downey claimed the top spots in the triple jump for the second straight meet. Archer, the 2025 NWC Champion and Downey, the 2024 NWC Champion, jumped an identical 36 feet, 11 ½ inches on their first jumps of the day to share the spoils of victory over the rest of the eight competitor field.
Bridger Hanis was the top Division III finisher in the high jump, placing fourth overall after clearing 5' 8 ¾" on his second attempt. Hanis opened the meet by clearing 5' 5" on his second attempt before needing just one try to soar over 5' 7". Hanis eventually bowed out of the competition at 5' 10 ¾". Washington State University's AJ McGloflin won the event, clearing 6' 11 ½.
The Lutes have a few student-athletes competing on Friday in Eugene, Oregon at the Oregon Twilight Meet and on Saturday at the Portland Twilight.
