TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University women's lacrosse team made its varsity debut this spring and on Monday was recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) for its efforts in the classroom, winning the Academic Honor Squad Award while seven student-athletes were named to the IWLCA's Academic Honor Role.

Annie Latimer, and Veronica Cardenas Yanez along with juniors
Gracie Cecka,
Issabella Marchio, and
Lia Zaboski. A total of 30 student-athletes from across the Northwest Conference were recognized, representing seven of the nine conference institutions.
To be eligible for the award, student-athletes need to be at a junior standing or higher and have earned a cumulative grade point average of 3.50 (on a 4.0 scale) or greater.
The Lutes won the IWLCA Academic Honor Squad Award after compiling a spring semester grade point average of 3.49 (on a 4.0 scale) while boasting a team cumulative GPA of 3.62. PLU was one of seven NWC schools to be recognized and was joined by rivals George Fox University, Lewis & Clark College, Pacific University, Whitman College, Whitworth University, and Willamette University.
