Men’s Golf 5th in Midseason Poll

HILLSBORO, Ore. — The Northwest Conference office released its midseason poll for the sport of men's golf on Monday morning with Pacific Lutheran University picked to finish fifth according to the league's head coaches.

The Lutes secured 37 points in the poll to snag fifth place, sitting just four points shy of in-state rival Whitworth University (41 points) for fourth. Willamette University is the odds on favorite with eight of the nine first place votes and 64 total points. Whitman College sits second with 55 points and the remaining first place endorsement while Linfield University sits third with 49 points. 

George Fox University is sixth with 29 points followed by Lewis & Clark College in seventh (24 points), University of Puget Sound in eighth (13 points), and Pacific University in ninth (12 points).

PLU placed fourth in October at the NWC Fall Classic, one of the three major tournaments used to determine the conference champion. The remaining two tournaments are the NWC Spring Classic on April 4-5 and the NWC Championships on April 19-20.
