WARRENTON, Ore. - Two Lutes placed inside the top 15 on Sunday, guiding the Pacific Lutheran University men's golf team to a fourth-place finish at the George Fox University Fall Invitational held at the Astoria Golf & Country Club.
Joshua Clogston led the Lutes, finishing fourth overall with a 141. The freshman shot a 70 in Saturday's opening round before turning around and carding a 71 in Sunday's closing round.
Gunner Nielsen was six strokes back in 11th, finishing with a 147 (75-72).
Josh Cross was 22nd with a 150, shooting 75s on both days while
Simon Luedtke was 28th with a 153 (75-78).
Cameron Klundt rounded out the PLU competitors, shooting a 154 (80-74) to place 29th.
Pacific Lutheran wrapped up the event with a 587, finishing eight strokes behind Whitworth University for fourth place at the nine-team invitational. The Lutes shot a 295 on Saturday before shaving off a trio of strokes on Sunday to net a 292. Willamette University took the team title, shooting a 563 (279-284) while Whitworth's Caleb Belton was the top individual, shootng a six-under 138 (69-69).

The Lutes are back on the course next Saturday for day one of the NWC Fall Classic held in Banks, Oregon at the Quail Valley Golf Course. The NWC Fall Classic is one of three major tournaments used to decide the 2021-2022 Northwest Conference Champion.
