NORTH PLAINS, Ore. — Marcus Otto drilled a hole-in-one on Monday, sinking a shot on hole three at the Pumpkin Ridge Golf Club to guide the Pacific Lutheran University men's golf squad to a fifth place showing at the 2026 Northwest Conference Championships.
Otto concluded the two-day event 12
th overall shooting a 146 for the event. The junior shot a 71 during Saturday's round, making 14 pars and two birdies on the day while making 11 pars, one birdie and an ace on Monday. Otto's hole-in-one came on the 158-yard, par three, third hole.
Tanner Frinell was one stroke back in 16
th with a 147. Frinell carded a 72 on Sunday before returning on Monday and shooting a 75. His opening round included six birdies, including four on the back nine while adding nine pars. He shot four birdies and eight pars on Monday.
Soren Bostrom was 18
th with a 148. Bostrom shot a 76 on Sunday before shaving off four strokes on Monday, turning in a round of 72 that included 14 pars and two birdies.
Koen Solis rounded out the Lute scorers, placing 32
nd with a 153, shooting a 75 during round one and a 78 in round two.
The Lutes finished fifth in the team standings, placing three strokes back of Lewis & Clark College. PLU shot a 594 over the two days, shooting a 294 on Sunday and a 300 on Monday. Willamette University earned the team title with a 560 (278-282), owning a comfortable 14-stroke edge on runner-up Linfield University (277-297).
"Our conference is tough and I hoped we could get to 4th but we just didn't quite have it today. Marcus led us and had his first hole in one today! Tanner was not feeling well and hung in there today," said Head Coach Al Patterson.

Linfield's Douglas Bailey and Willamette's Brock Olson tied for medalist honors, both shooting a 137 with Bailey winning on a playoff hole.
