TACOMA, Wash. - The Pacific Lutheran University men's swimming team won the final three events on Friday evening, coming away with a 97-80 Northwest Conference dual meet victory over George Fox University in the home finale.

The Lutes (2-3-1, 2-3-1 NWC) won the opening event of the meet with
Devin Stanley,
Seth Koivisto,
Christiaan Chandler, and
Charlie Cutter winning the 200-yard medley relay in one minute, 38.88 seconds.Â

Koivisto blew away the field in the 200-yard individual medley, winning by over seven seconds after touching the wall in 2:02.21.Â

Christiaan Chandler prevailed in the 100-yard butterfly, stopping the clock in 55.96 with
Na'inoa Loo placing second in 57.07.

PLU swept the final three events of the night, starting with
Carson Braddock's win in the 500-yard freestyle (5:18.38). Koivisto won his third event of the meet in the 100-yard breaststroke, touching the wall in 54.46 before Chandler,
Luke Farag, Loo, and Braddock iced the meet by winning the 200-yard freestyle relay in 1:34.69.

PLU received runner-up showings from Braddock in the 200-yard freestyle (1:53.66), Cutter in the 50-yard freestyle (22.57) and 100-yard freestyle (49.61), Stanley in the 100-yard backstroke (56.98), and Farag in the 500-yard freestyle (5:26.17).
"We're really excited about the meet tonight. The seniors really showed up and led from the front. As soon as they got to the pool I knew they were going to have a good day. All 4 men swam great setting the tone for a great win. Chandler and Koivisto led the way with 3 wins apiece and Charlie and Nic both swam very well and contributed a lot," said Head Coach

Seth Koivisto. As a class the 2022 seniors enjoyed an 8-4 record in home dual meets over the past four seasons. Â

The Lutes, winners of two straight, close the dual meet season next Saturday, making the short trip across town to face the University of Puget Sound.Â
