BOISE, Idaho -- Tyler Tanaka and
Vyron Domingo provided a one-two punch on Saturday for the Pacific Lutheran University men's swimming program, helping the Lutes remain fifth in the team standings at the 2026 Northwest Conference Championships at the Idaho Central Aquatic Center.
Tyler Tanaka had another big performance in the A finals, placing sixth in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 57.04 seconds. Teammates
Christian Georgi and Matthew Jones tied for the win the B final of the event, touching the wall in 58.77 to finish ninth overall.
Vyron Domingo placed fourth in the 100-yard backstroke, clocking a time of 52.13with
Sebastian Arellano 11th in 53.95.
Hoskoo Amgalan was runner-up in the B final of the 200-yard freestyle and 10th overall, touching the wall in 1:48.15. Teammate
Anthony James was four spots back in 14th with a time of 1:50.83.
Dylan Dang was third in the B final and 11th overall in the 100-yard butterfly, clocking a time of 52.08 while Gus Hertz was 13th (53.23) and
Marshall Bataluna 16th (53.80).
The Lutes opened the evening session by finishing fifth in the 200-yard medley relay in 1:34.44 and capped off the night with a sixth place showing in the 800-yard freestyle relay (7:15.12).
PLU has 211.5 points in the team standings, sitting fifth overall and owning a 23.5-point gap on sixth place Lewis & Clark College. Whitworth University sits on top with 594 points followed by the University of Puget Sound with 347.5 points.
PLU finishes off the 2026 NWC Championships tomorrow with two more sessions of racing.
