TACOMA, Wash. — The Pacific Lutheran University women's swimming team finished off the weekend undefeated, winning eight of the 11 events for a 111-74 dual meet victory over Northwest Conference rival Willamette University on Saturday.
"This is by far was the most difficult physical, psychological, and emotional battle for both teams because of the quick turnaround on Friday and that the Bearcats are a quality team in all aspects of the sport," said Head Coach

The Lutes secured an early 11 points from
Maya Lovre,
Makenzie Chan-Orcutt,
Annika Eisele, and
Sidney Chan-Orcutt who teamed up to win the 400-yard medley relay in four minutes, 14.87 seconds, enjoying a 10-second buffer on the runner-up Bearcats.
Sidney Chan-Orcutt took the win in the 200-yard freestyle, clocking a time of 2:05.91 while
Malia Wisham and
Makenzie Chan-Orcutt took the top two spots in the 200-yard individual medley. Wisham won the event in 2:15.81 with Chan-Orcutt runner-up in 2:24.03.
Claire Cranch breezed to the win in the 200-yard butterfly (2:27.37), winning by an impressive 32-second margin.
Wisham won the 100-yard freestyle in 55.44 before Eisele (2:16.80) and Lovre (2:21.93) finished 1-2 in the 200-yard backstroke.
Jersey Razzano blew away the competition in the 500-yard freestyle, winning in 5:44.75 with teammate
Allie Burke runner-up in 6:05.78.
The Lutes capped off the day with
Sidney Chan-Orcutt, Razzano, Eisele, and Wisham winning the 400-yard freestyle by a wide margin, touching the wall in 3:53.99.
"While Willamette came prepared, the Lutes were ready to pounce. We had some phenomenal gritty battles, and were fortunate to come out on top for most of them. All kudos to the team and Willamette for providing an electric competitive environment today!"

The Lutes are back at it on Friday evening, competing against George Fox University in Newberg, Oregon.
